Product Info

  • Uses

Generic Indocin belongs to the category of NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). It can stifle hormones that lead to body inflammation and cause pain. It is frequently prescribed to treat arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, gout, tendinitis or bursitis.

  • How to take

Generic Indocin should be taken according to your doctor's instructions and directions on the prescription label. Do not change the dosage or period of use without prior medical consult.

To lower the risk of upset stomach, take the medication with food or milk.

Swallow the whole capsule without crashing or chewing it as it may lead to the rapid release of a big amount of medication.

  • Side effects

DO NOT use the medication if you are allergic to it. If you experience any symptoms associated with allergies such as difficulty breathing, hives, swollen tongue etc., stop using the medication and seek urgent medical help.

  • Precautions

Avoid combining the medication with alcohol as it may increase the probability of stomach bleeding.

Do not use any over-the-counter medications for cold symptoms, painkillers or allergy drugs without prior medical consult. Many of such medications contain aspirin or other agents similar to indomethacin (e.g. ketoprofen, ibuprofen or naproxen).

While taking Generic Indocin avoid sunlight and exposure to artificial UV rays.

  • Drug interactions

Notify your medical specialist if you are taking antidepressants (Celexa, Cymbalta, Lexapro, Prozac, Sarafem, Symbyax, Luvox, Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor etc.) due to the risk of easy bruising and bleeding, blood thinners (Coumadin), digoxin (Digitalis, Lanoxin), methotrexate (Trexall, Rheumatrex), probenecid (Benemid), steroids (prednisone and others), cyclosporine (Gengraf, Sandimmune, Neoral), lithium (Lithobid, Eskalith), diuretics such as furosemide (Lasix), aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
